70% of corporate video shoots are ruined by camera-shy executives, messy offices, and nervous breakdowns, which causes professional visions to be disrespectfully executed.
With over 100 video shoots and being a KrishaStudio client, this guide will prepare your team for success on set – from overcoming shyness to mastering logistics.
In addition to the aspects mentioned in many top articles, this guide includes pointers on psychological preparation and how to establish a strong working relationship between client and agency for stress-free corporate video shoots.
Understand the Shoot Day Flow
KrishaStudio manages all the lighting, camera equipment, crews, etc., so you just need to provide your talent, location, & props. Be prepared for 8-10 hour shoot days, including (1 hour) setup, (6 hours) interviews/B-Roll filming, and (1 hour) wrap/review time. Call-sheets will be sent 48 hours in advance; confirm your attendance at filming to ensure timely production.
Step 1: Overcome Camera Shyness and Build Confidence
Often, people struggle to act in front of an audience and feel frozen when creating on-camera content due to their fears. When we practice before shooting, we see that 80% of the clients become more relaxed by the time we get to our first take. You will want to take the time to practice daily by shooting your phone at yourself and filming your key points in a relaxed way (no script). Take deep breaths (4-7-8 breathing technique) and include body language, including a smile; energy will show on video three times.
Shyness Buster Tips:
- Instead of thinking about your performance on a shoot, when rehearsing before the shoot with a Zoom call, think about the conversation only.
- On the day of your shoot, you may want to do warm-ups, including exercises such as tongue twisters and rolling your shoulders.
- Our Director will be coaching you live; this is a judgment-free zone, with very few limits to taking more than one take.
Step 2: Wardrobe and Appearance Essentials
Dress according to Brand; solid colours (navy & grey) only, no patterns, logos or shiny jewelry. Test outfits on camera prior to wear (don’t wear white or green); hair should be clean and neat; minimal make-up (we do high-definition touch-ups). Comfort considerations: breathable fabrics for extended periods.

Step 3: Location and Logistics Prep
Remove 2-3 locations: conference room (interviews), big area (B-roll). Clear the desk, hide the cables, test the WiFi and power. Communicate with building management about parking/badges. Provide snacks/water – happy teams shine.
For Clients:
- Send floor plans and/or photos at least 1 week in advance.
- Have a backup plan in case someone gets nervous.
- Don’t allow phones during filming.
Step 4: Talent Briefing and Rehearsal
Choose 3-5 spokespeople: competent, eloquent representatives. Provide script at least 5 days in advance—practice using the key message, not the script. Hold a group rehearsal call along with us (to address Q&A and energy levels).
Step 5: Day-Before and On-Set Etiquette
Confirm the attendee list the day before the event. Arrive on site at least an hour early; turn off all cell phones. Follow the Director’s cues—natural pauses are acceptable to allow for audience response. Directly after the shoot, an informal debriefing session about the shoot will define subsequent edits.
Conclusion:
To get your team ready for their KrishaStudio corporate shoot, the first step is getting them over their shyness through practice sessions, being well-dressed, and planning logistics so that they are able to complete projects promptly about 50% faster than most productions. Once clients are working with us, we take them through the whole process: pre-shoot coaching from our directors and professional makeup artists to set up and direct the shoot so we can create videos that capture the client’s authentic stories.
